3rd Sunday Jazz Concert #1

Community Outreach

Brandon Meeks Quintet

The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation is sponsoring “3rd Sunday Jazz” at the Black Leaf Vegan Café. This series of four free concerts brings jazz out of the concert hall and into the neighborhood encouraging families to attend. The series kicked off on March 19 and continues through June. It was well attended and a wonderful free community event.

The 3rd Sunday Jazz Concerts series features the Brandon Meeks Quintet and are held at Black Leaf Vegan Cafe. The Brandon Meeks Quintet is a new collective of exciting regional artists from Indy, Chicago, Louisville, and Cincinnati coming together to inspire people of all ages through music.

“It was amazing to see so many people turn out to support local jazz. The number of families and young people there was especially encouraging. It shows that this music is something the city of Indianapolis really needs and people want jazz to be a major part of the cultural landscape here. “
