Since 2024, the band has featured GRAMMY-winning vocalist and violinist Mireya Ramos (founder of Flor de Toloache), whose bold voice and soulful style add a fresh layer to The Tropicales’ already deep catalog. Together, they bring Ramos’ original boleros and rancheras into the fold, alongside lush takes on classic Caribbean melodies and reimagined New Orleans tunes. Their latest album, Jump Up (NuTone Recordings), showcases collaborations with Cyrille Aimée, Drew Gonsalves, and Quiana Lynell—featuring a globe-trotting mix of calypsos, R&B, and Latin dance rhythms. It follows Shake the Rum, which earned acclaim for its breezy, analog authenticity and sun-soaked sound.
